Umpherston Sinkhole Gardens in Mount Gambier

Umpherston Sinkhole – South Australia

Hi Folks,

They say that everything but gardening is unnecessary. I am not that sure of it but if you truly are into gardening, here’s a bit of an advice for you. Find a sinkhole and start gardening. If you are in the Mount Gambier region surely you will find some time to visit this lovely garden. Umpherston Sinkhole is a pleasant place to hang out but for staying for a longer time – it’s not for me. Surely I would think differently if I was a garden gnome.

Edvard Munch The Dance of Life

The Dance of Life – Edvard Munch

Hi Folks,

This is The Dance of Life, a fine painting by Edvard Munch. Edvard was my good personal friend through his adult life. He was not quite that cheerful fella but had some tendencies into depression. Edvard’s art represents the finest expressionism there was. However, he’s work for women’s equality is not that well known. Interestingly Madonna, who’s made a part of her lifework as a dancer, released a single – Express Yourself  – in 1989. The song is an obvious hymn for gender equality. I bet Edvard would have loved Madonna’s tunes – he certainly loved to dance to an up-beat dance-pop. One of Edvard’s well known works is Madonna (1889). Actually there are several versions of Edvard’s composition Madonna, and the referred year of 1889 may not be accurate but I will not let it spoil a good story.

The Twelve Apostles Victoria

The Twelve Apostles – Victoria, AU

Hi Folks,

This is a cool place. No wonder though, it’s by the Southern Ocean and the breeze from Antarctica is rather cool. If you just happen to be cruising the Great Ocean Road, you might want to slow down around here. The rock stacks are soft lime stone formed by erosion. There’s only eight remaining of the Twelve Apostles, so go before it’s too late. The Twelve Apostles is a must see if you are anywhere near Victoria, Australia.

Cosmo McMurtry, Michael Parekowhai

Cosmo McMurtry – Michael Parekowhai

Hi Folks,

Please let me introduce you to the giant rabbit, my friend, Cosmo McMurtry. They say that immigration causes a lot of controversy in New Zealand. Rabbits are treated as if they were second class citizens. So, Cosmo took off and tours the world. As you may rememenber, I tried to visit Cosmo in Detroit but he had continued his journey to Australia. I met Cosmo in National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. Unfortunately rabbits are not better off Down Under. I have heard that the Ozzies have built “rabbit proof fences” accross Australia. My message to the Ozzies is: Make love, not war; please take care of each other!!

Golden Gate Bridge - San Francisco

Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco

Hi Folks,

I know, the photo is not the best of them all but my fingers were frozen like Fish Sticks and I could not operate the campera properly. I’ve got two things to tell you folks about San Francisco: Do not call it Frisco or Summer (especially in November). It’s about time to find some place warm – Australia, be prepared, here I come!

Venice Beach - Los Angeles

Venice Beach – Los Angeles

Hi Folks,

Pacific Ocean, the beach, the people, L.A…. Wish you were here! Venice Beach is the only place where I have felt that I’m not being stared at. The place is packed with quite unique people and a small gnome does not stick out from the crowd. By the way, Santa Monica Pier and the end of U.S. Route 66 is right next to Venice Beach.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas – Nevada

Hi Folks,

I thought it would be a good idea to double anything I have. Well… It went all right at first. Mom, if you see this, please send me some money for all in.. I mean food of course! Las Vegas baby, I will miss you but the highway is hot and the world cannot wait!

Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam – Arizona

Hi Folks,

I do not know whether you have heard of Mr. Hoover. Apparently he was keen on building stuff and cleaning. One of the best inventions in the world is named after him. I guess he was a little bit up-tight: “Keep off Wall”. A bit rude I would say. The word “please” would have done it for me. Hoover Dam, yeah dude!

Grand Canyon - North Rim

Grand Canyon North Rim – Arizona

Hi Folks,

This is amazing. I mean, the artcrafts in MoMA have no comparison to this view. Do you hike? No, well maybe you should! Go before it’s too late. Be sure to take enough water with you. And look out for rattlesnakes, scorpions and especially the squirrels which are possibly more dangerous than the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Bringing your own grenades is not necessary though. Grand Canyon is just great place to visit.

Salt Lake Temple - Salt Lake City

Salt Lake Temple – Salt Lake City

Hi Folks,

I visited one of the strangest cities, Salt Lake City. The main city attraction is the Mormons’ head quarters called Salt Lake Temple. I have heard that there is a musical about Joseph Smith and Mormons on Broadway; I will definitely have to see it to learn more about these weird people. About the photo, you can see me on the edge of the pool (yes, the small white dot wearing a red beanie).
